The 4th of October 2020 was the day of past IPL champions, MI defeated SRH by 34 runs and CSK trounced KXIP by 10 wickets(14 balls to spare).

Match 1: MI VS SRH Score

1st Innings: Mumbai Indians (MI): 208/5 (20 overs)

2nd Innings: Sunrisers Hyderabad: 174/7 (20 overs)

In the first match, MI set a mammoth total of 208 for SRH. The MI captain- Rohit Sharma got out early to the bowling of S Sharma. Q de Kock along with S Yadav took charge of MI batting and added 42 runs in the next 29 balls before S Yadav got out to a soft dismissal. Thereafter, Q de Kock got out at a team score of 126 (13.1 over) after knitting a partnership of 78 off 44 balls with I Kishan. In the end, the big hitters of MI took over and the trio of K Pollard, H Pandya & K Pandya took the team score to 208. In the bowling, R Khan was splendid like he has been in the previous 2 matches, gave less than run a ball and also took a wicket Q de Kock.

Considering that the match was being played on Sharjah Cricket ground the score of 208 wasn't improbable to chase. SRH's J Bairstow started in style scoring 25 runs off 15 balls hitting 2 sixes and 2 fours before T Boult surprised him with a slower short ball to take his wicket at a team score of 34. M Pandey and D Warner continued the run chase adding 60 runs more to the total before Pandey hoicked a short off Pattinson straight to the long-off fielder K Pollard. Thereafter, wickets fell regularly and with the fall of D Warner at a team score of 142, it was virtually game set and match for MI. Ultimately, SRH lost by 34 runs.

KXIP's openers once again gave their team a good start scoring 61 runs in first 8 overs. M Agarwal got out to Chawla on the first ball off 9th over. M Singh who was specifically picked in the side to give KXIP's fragile middle-order some strength; played a sweet cameo of 27 off 16 balls before unluckily getting caught to a sweetly timed shot by A Rayudu on a Jadeja delivery. Thereafter, N Pooran and KL Rahul scored 58 runs off the next 30 balls followed by losing their wickets in back to back balls at the team score of 152. To finish off, G Maxwell and S Khan scored 26 runs off the next 16 deliveries to help KXIP post the score of 178 in 20 overs.

In reply, CSK opener S Watson started strongly against S Cottrell scoring 9 runs off 5 balls from the first over. He luckily survived a Jaffa from M Shami on the first ball of the next over, followed by getting beaten in an attempt to cut the ball, these were some tricky moments S Watson survived early in his innings. Up until the first 5 overs, Faf du Plessis(2nd opener) and S Watson played cautiously scoring 41 runs off them. In the 6th hell broke for KXIP when Faf took Thompson apart scoring 19 runs off it. Thereafter, the CSK's opening batsmen never looked back and saw their team through to victory.

Player of the Match

In the first match, T Boult for bowling excellently on a supremely batsmen-friendly ground of Sharjah.

In the second match, S Watson for his score of 83 not out off 53 balls.

Like the super Saturday, we saw some excellent play on super Sunday as well, some massive hitting from K Pollard & S Watson in the batting and miserly bowling from R Khan and D Chahar. All in all a power-packed Sunday which ended on a good note for IPL's most successful two teams-MI & CSK.
