Dream 11 IPL Match 17: Mumbai Indians (MI) versus Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Preview

Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the first match of the day.

We can expect another high scorer as this match is to be played at Sharjah.

Head to Head

The Head to Head between these two teams is bang even.

In total, they have played 14 matches and have shared the spoils winning 7 matches each.

The interesting stat about their head to head is that in the last four matches against each other they have won 2 matches each.

In this edition of IPL, both the teams have played 4 matches, won 2 and lost 2.

Top Players of SRH and MI

MI:

  • R Sharma: He has played two great knocks and got out early twice in the tournament. In the previous match against KXIP, he looked at ease throughout his stay on the crease.

    • K Pollard: He has found some form for MI and how, in the match against RCB he scored 60 off 24 and in the previous match against KXIP he scored 40 off 27, and remained not out in either innings.

  • J Bumrah: He has looked a bit scratchy in patches and brilliant in some. He was stupendous against KXIP, Rohit and team would hope for another wonderful spell from their bowling maestro.

    • Q de Kock: He got out to a pinch of delivery from S Cottrell in the match against KXIP. Apart from the first match he hasn't performed as expected, Sharjah ground that has even bounce and short boundaries can just be perfect conditions for Kock to return to form.

  • H Pandya: He played a quick-fire inning of 30 of 11 balls against KXIP and with the power that he possesses could be very dangerous with the bat at Sharjah.

SRH:

  • D Warner: He has continued to chip in with the bat but hasn't scored big runs as yet. Today could be the day for Warner if he survives initial barrage from Bumrah and co.

  • B Kumar: He bowled excellently in the previous two matches but in the previous match against CSK he limped off the ground and didn't complete his full quota of 4 overs. His inclusion or exclusion in the side remains a mystery.

  • R Khan: He was marvellous in the previous two matches, giving away only 12 runs in 4 overs against CSK and picking up 3 wickets for only 14 runs against DC. These numbers are unbelievably good for a bowler in T20 cricket.

  • M Pandey: He is Mr Consistent for SRH but hasn't played a match-winning knock as yet. He could use short boundaries at Sharjah to boost his strike rate in today's match.

  • J Bairstow: He made a crucial 50 against DC but got out early against CSK. Getting him out early would be the main goal for MI else he can be a very dangerous batsman.

Likely Playing 11

Other Players to watch out for

I Kishan (MI): He was arguably the best batsmen against RCB but struggled against KXIP to get going. The small ground would be the perfect conditions for him to unleash himself once again.

R Chahar (MI): Sharjah ground is a turmoil for bowlers but I believe Chahar has the talent to shine in tough conditions as well.

P Garg(SRH): The Hero for SRH against CSK deserves all the attention but would he be able to repeat his performance yet again is what needs to be seen.

K Williamson(SRH): He is often overlooked as a T20 batsman although he is the kind of player who often makes the difference.

This match looks bang even if we compare their records or their performance in this match. Both the teams have firepower at the top but I believe SRH lacks the same in the lower-middle-over. Like always, I will root for MI in this match and hope they grab 2 more points in this match.
