Dream 11 IPL Match 14: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Preview

Updated: Oct 4, 2020

Chennai Super Kings (SRH) take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the battle between the bottom two teams of IPL 2020.

Head to Head

The Head to Head between these two teams is heavily in favour of CSK.

In total, they have played twelve matches out of which CSK have won 9 and SRH have won only 3 that is amazing 75 %.

If we look at their last four meetings, SRH has won the most recent meeting but CSK have won the other 3 matches.

Squads

Top Players of KKR and MI

CSK:

  • MS Dhoni: He hasn't had a good season as captain as well as with the bat. He has to play higher in the batting order to be able to create an impact as a batsman, he has played too low in the batting order.

  • A Rayudu: He was the main reason behind CSK's first win and looked very comfortable on the crease in that match. He missed the following two matches and because of that CSK struggled to find an able partner for Faf du Plessis. He should be back in the side in this match and should help strengthen their batting order..

  • S Watson: Overall, hasn't clicked with the bat and now that he cannot bowl any more because of injuries he has to do more to remain in the team. His consistency with the bat has helped CSK immensely in the past and Dhoni would want him to get going soon.

  • Faf du Plessis: He is the only batsman in the CSK team who has performed well in every match. Now, that A Rayudu is to be back it makes the CSK middle-order strong once again.

  • S Curran: He is the only bowler from CSK who has had decent figures in every match. He too hasn't done anything extravagant with the ball but has looked dangerous whenever he comes to bowl.

SRH:

  • D Warner: He hasn't had a great outing as a bat as yet as per his standards, although he has scored two 30+ scores already in the tournament but he is expected to score more and at a higher strike rate.

  • B Kumar: He along with R Khan were stupendous in the match against DC and SRH would rely on him to get an early breakthrough.

  • R Khan: He has improved his performance in every match he has played. From being scratchy in the first match to slightly better in the second and being the man of the match in the third. R Khan can be very dangerous for CSK, A Rayudu vs R Khan should be an excellent battle to watch.

  • M Pandey: He is another player along with D Warner to score 30+ runs in two innings but neither of his innings was good enough to make an impact on the game.

  • J Bairstow: He played an unusually slow inning against DC which was criticized initially but later on when Delhi batsman were found struggling on the pitch as well, the importance of his innings was seen. He is a dangerous player and remains a very important player for SRH.

Likely Playing 11

Other Players to watch

K Williamson (SRH): I believe his batting played a major role in SRH's win against DC and he again could play a very crucial role against CSK.

R Gaikwad(CSK): This player has a very decent T20 record it is to be seen whether he plays in the match after consecutive failures, he or R Jagadeesan might play in place of M Vijay and if either player clicks it could sort the opening problem for CSK. So far CSK management has been pro M Vijay in the tournament despite him struggling with the bat.

A Rayudu: Although he is listed in the main player's list, I personally believe this man's batting is extremely important and he is the player to watch.

If we talk about past achievements CSK are clear favourites but remember this is a depleted CSK side without their premiere batsman S Raina and their main bowler H Singh. They still remain the force to reckon with but SRH looks to have found a correct combination of team. It is immensely difficult to choose a side in this match.
