CSK vs RCB Dream11 Prediction: Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Best Dream11 Team

CSK vs RCB Dream11 Team, Probable Playing XI, Toss, Pitch and Match Preview: High flying RCB face rejuvenated CSK in the South Indian Derby at the Wankhede Stadium in the 19th Match of the Indian Premier League 2021

The Big Picture

Since 2015, no team has managed to win their first 5 matches. Considering their track record no one anticipated RCB to win 4 consecutive matches. CSK who had a horrendous 2020 IPL season have lived up to their fans expectations to win 3 out of 4 matches. New recruits Glenn Maxwell and Moeen Ali have stabilized the middle order for their respective sides. Both sides have leaked runs during the death overs. Since 2018 RCB on an average have scored 46 runs for the loss of 3 wickets at an economy rate of 9.2. Whereas, CSK on an average have scored 44 runs for the loss of 2 wickets at an economy rate of 8.8. RCB have the ammunition within their batting unit to set or chase a big score. On the other hand, with Shardul Thakur coming in at 10, CSK have a batting depth like no other side in the IPL. Moreover, the two sides have competed 26 times, CSK have won 16 matches and RCB have won 9 matches. Since CSK return to the IPL in 2018, CSK have won 4 matches and RCB have won 2 matches.

Chennai Super Kings

The Chennai top order including Gaikwad, du Plessis and Ali have collectively scored 381 runs in 4 matches at an average of 95.25 runs and a strike rate of 136.55. This season during the power play period CSK have scored 42 runs for loss of 1 wicket and have on an average conceded 45 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. The CSK middle order might come under scanner facing short balls from the RCB’s quick and tall bowlers. The trio of Moeen Ali, Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu have struggled against bodyline or short pitch deliveries. Since 2018 CSK have lost 16 wickets to fast bowlers and 12 wickets to spinners against RCB. MS Dhoni needs to use Ravindra Jadeja wisely, the left-arm orthodox spinners has dismissed Kohli on 3 occasions and has conceded 123 runs of 113 balls. Jadeja has also picked up Glenn Maxwell's wicket on 4 occasion.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

As always, the batting unit has mostly won the matches for RCB. Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli have been sensation this season for RCB. The top order this season has added 456 runs in 4 matches at a strike rate of 141.61. Harshal Patel has been sensational during the death overs, whereas Yuzi Chahal halted his dry run in the IPL by picking up couple of wickets against RR in the previous game. However, whenever Chahal has picked 2 or more wickets against CSK, Dhoni & Co. have won 75% of their matches. Kohli might hold Washington Sundar for Moeen Ali and Suresh Raina, as he is the specialist off spinner in the side. Since 2018 AB de Villiers has scored 142 runs in 6 innings at a strike rate of 140.59 against CSK, more importantly he has lost his wicket to spinners in 4 out of 6 innings.

Pitch Conditions and Toss

At StatsHuman we speculate that there are three different pitches which are being used at the Wankhede stadium, Pitch 1 is an absolute batting delta, average run scored on this wicket this season is above 200. Pitch 2 is also a great batting wicket, but it also aids the bowlers, scores between 180-200 can be defended on this wicket. The third wicket is slightly slow in nature, bowlers who can role their fingers can make the best use of this wicket. Average score on this wicket so far this season is 129 for loss of 6 wickets. Since it is a day match Dew factor might not come in to play. It will be a good toss to lose. Due to the uncertainty of the wicket being used, we would recommend you watch the live telecast of the Pitch report on Star Sports network between 2:45 PM to 3:00 PM IST.

Team 1 for Batting Wicket

CSK vs RCB Dream11 Wicketkeepers

AB de Villiers is my first-choice wicketkeeper batsman, I have selected him over MS Dhoni despite of an excellent track record against RCB. Dhoni has been rusty and has looked out of touch. On the other hand, AB de Villiers has been scoring at a strike rate of 189.39 this season.

CSK vs RCB Dream11 Batsmen

Devdutt Padikkal and Ambati Rayudu are obvious choices for me. Since 2018, Ambati Rayudu has scored 252 runs at an average of 42 against RCB. Padikkal has been in a staggering form, the RCB southpaw became the youngest batsman to score a century in the IPL. Last season Padikkal scored 55 runs against CSK. Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad are the other two batsmen in my side. It always a risk to leave out the RCB skipper from any team. Gaikwad’s knock against KKR has given him immense confidence, Last season Gaikwad scored a 65 runs knock against RCB and made his comeback into the IPL.

CSK vs RCB Dream11 All-rounders

Ravindra Jadeja is my first-choice All-rounder. Since 2018 Jadeja has picked up 7 wickets against RCB and has bowled economically. Apart from his heroics against RCB Jadeja has dismissed Glenn Maxwell on 4 occasions for mere 35 runs. Moeen Ali has been sensational for CSK. Apart from scoring 133 runs the English all-rounder has also picked up 4 wickets this season. Glenn Maxwell has revolutionized the RCB middle order apart from being the leading run scorer for RCB this season can be a handy bowler who can assist Washinton Sundar bowl against the CSK left-handed batsmen.

CSK vs RCB Dream11 Bowlers

Deepak Chahar and Harshal Patel are my obvious choices getting into this game. Both bowlers have specialised in their own areas. Chahar has been excellent with the new ball, whereas Patel has been pick of the bowlers during the death overs. Lungi Ngidi is my third bowler who has picked up 3 wickets in the only game he has played this season. Ngidi bowled an economical spell in a high scoring game against KKR.

CSK vs RCB Dream11 Captain & Vice Captain

Captain: Devdutt Padikkal and Ruturaj Gaikwad

Team 2 for Slow Wicket
