MI vs SRH Dream11 Prediction: Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Best Dream11 Team

MI vs SRH Dream11 Team, Probable Playing XI, Toss, Pitch and Match Preview: Mumbai Indians lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 9th Match of the Indian Premier League Played in Chennai.

The Big Picture

Sunrisers Hyderabad need to find ways of including Kane Williamson in the playing XI. The SRH captain David Warner is one short of his 50th half century in the IPL. Whereas his counterpart Rohit Sharma is 28 runs short of completing 4,000 runs as captain. MI can strengthen the bowling unit by including Jayant Yadav by replacing Marco Jansen. Yadav can start the proceedings for MI against Warner. The two teams have competed on 16 occasions against each other and have won 8 matches each. MI have won 3 out of last 5 competitions against SRH including the Super over in 2019.

Mumbai Indians

Since 2018, MI on an average have scored 41 runs in the power-play against SRH; however, they have lost minimum 2 wickets every time. Their average score in the last 5 overs creeps up to 45 runs for the loss of 2.6 wickets per innings. Lack of off spinning options in the SRH bowling unit might allow the MI left-handed batsmen to score freely. Hardik Pandya who has had a below average start to the season, does not have a good record against SRH. Pandya has scored mere 89 runs in 8 innings.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

History has been repeating for Sunrisers Hyderabad - the bowlers have been economical, David Warner has shown a solid start and the middle order has failed to capitalise & finish the match for them. Manish Pandey, who has been amongst the runs, has failed consistently to match up to the scoring rate that is needed. In the last season, every time Pandey faced more than 30 balls, SRH has lost the match. Moreover, Pandey has scored 10 fifty plus scores for SRH and 8 of them have resulted in a defeat.

Pitch Conditions and Toss

The M.A. Chidambaram stadium has four different pitches, and all these wickets are slow and sluggish. The odd ball holds up and the lack of pace affects stroke making. 170 looks to be a par score. The side winning the toss will still look to chase a target.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: Manish Pandey (99) and Jonny Bairstow (67)

MI vs SRH Dream11 - Wicketkeepers

Jonny Bairstow is my first-choice wicket keeper batsman, Bairstow has been in great form since he landed in India with the English team. Moreover, I anticipate Bairstow to open the innings against MI. My second-choice wicket keeper batsman is Ishan Kishan. I have chosen him over Quinton de Kock as I feel de Kock might take time to acclimatise to the situation in Chennai. Ishan Kishan goes easy on the budget which helps me in selecting other front line batsmen.

MI vs SRH Dream11 - Batsmen

David Warner and Suryakumar Yadav are my obvious choices. Yadav averages 58 at Chepauk and has struck 125 runs including 2 fifty plus scores with a strike rate of more than 147. Rohit Sharma is my third batsman in the squad for his abilities to score quickly during the power play and capitalise on the start. My fourth batsman is Manish Pandey who has scored 3 fifty plus knocks in the last 4 innings he has played at Chepauk.

MI vs SRH Dream11 - All Rounders

Jason Holder had an excellent outing with the ball against RCB in the previous match. Holder picked up 3 wickets & bowled during the death overs. SRH need more contributions from him down the order with the bat. My second choice is Krunal Pandya who was the pick of the MI bowlers against KKR. Pandya picked up a wicket for just 13 runs in his 4 overs. The elder Pandya sibling is also capable of hitting lethal blows coming down the order. The southpaw is two wickets short of picking up 50 wickets in IPL for MI.

MI vs SRH Dream11- Bowlers

Rashid Khan has been one of the most economical spinners in the circuit. Since 2019, Khan has been bowling with an economy rate of 5.40 and against MI it improves to 5.20 per over! Moreover, Rashid Khan has been effective against the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard. Rahul Chahar, who made a quick comeback against KKR after being hammered by RCB, picked up the top 4 KKR batsman and gave away only 27 runs. I wanted to have Jusprit Bumrah in my squad but due to budget constraints I have settled for T Natarajan who can pick up wickets mainly during the death overs.

MI vs SRH Dream11 - Captain and Vice-Captain

Captain: David Warner and Suryakumar Yadav have scored runs at a quick pace on a two paced Chennai wicket. Yadav averages 58 and Warner has been scoring at a strike rate of 140 in Chennai.

Vice Captain: Jonny Bairstow has been amongst runs top of the order. With his variations Jason Holder has picked up 3 wickets during death overs and can strike some heavy blows while batting.
