Rajasthan Royals (RR)
RR have bolstered their side by replacing the unavailable trio of Buttler, Archer & Stokes by Evin Lewis, Tabraiz Shamsi, Oshane Thomas & G Phillips. Lewis is an explosive opening batsman and is in splendid form; in the recently concluded CPL he was a star performer. Shamsi is the number one World T20 bowler. Their captain - S. Samson played a splendid knock against Punjab yet they lost a very close match by 4 runs. There is every chance that L Livingstone might get into the playing 11 as well. C Morris & C Sakariya bowled well in the first leg and RR would want them to continue the good work.
Punjab Kings (PBKS)
PBKS have struggled to get going this season - they have played 8 matches overall but won only 3 games. The biggest problem for Punjab is their inconsistent middle-order batting followed by their iffy bowling. Punjab Kings have strengthened their lineup by adding Adil Rashid & Nathan Ellis. It would be interesting to see if Aiden Markram gets a go-ahead before Gayle, considering that Gayle had a poor CPL tournament as per his standards.
Pitch Conditions and Toss
The Dubai pitch is two-paced and hence the Captain would want to set a target rather than chase on this ground. Overall, 62 T20 Matches have been played on this ground and the sides batting first have won 34 matches whereas the sides batting second have won 27 matches with one match ending in a tie. In the first match between MI VS CSK, it was seen that the fast bowlers get some assistance from the pitch making it an even battle between the bat and ball.
