DC vs KKR Dream11 Team, Probable Playing XI, Toss, Pitch and Match Preview: Last year’s runner-up DC take on KKR in Gujarat.
The Big Picture
The 25th match of IPL is going to be played between DC and KKR in Ahmadabad. DC like last year is having a good campaign this year as well whereas KKR has shown glimpses of the past in the two matches that they have won. If DC ends up winning the match they might overtake RCB to the second position on the table based on NRR. KKR on the other end would want to win handsomely as well so that they can get into the top 4 overtaking MI. Overall, KKR has won 14 out of the total 26 matches played between them whereas DC has won 11 but in the recent 4 matches, DC has won 3 times.
Delhi Capitals
DC barely missed scoring two points versus RCB the last time they played. Their captain R Pant nearly saw them through in the chase against RCB and he is looking more dangerous with the bat the more he bats. The good thing for DC is that although they lost they had a lot of positives to take from the previous match like Hetmeyer’s cameo. S Dhawan and Shaw have looked in blissful touch with the bat. A Patel would be heavily dependent on after Ashwin’s departure and L Yadav could come in handy moving forward.
Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR at times is stubborn when it comes to their batting order. Either Morgan or Karthik should bat at number 4 to give stability to the middle-order. KKR bowlers bowled exceptionally well in the previous match to restrict Punjab for a meagre 123 runs in 20 overs. If KKR manages to restrict the free-flowing DC batsman this could end up being a cracker of a match. Sending in Narine at 4 in the last match means KKR still believe in him as a batsman. Narine either should play as an opener or play as a lower-order batsman, playing him at 4 doesn’t make sense.
Pitch Conditions and Toss
The pitch used in the match between RCB and DC looked like a decent pitch which had a little bit for both bowlers as well as the batsman. Although lost the last match against RCB chasing the total, DC Look much more comfortable while chasing the target. Whereas KKR has won a game batting first and another while chasing. If KKR wins the toss they might select to bat first whereas DC wouldn’t mind fielding first even if they win the toss. So it would be a win-win situation for both at least at the toss.
