Player of the Match
R Ashwin was declared the Man of the Match for his excellent spell of 2 for 22.
S Iyer: The match results are going in favour of DC hence they are the table toppers. So far, Iyer - the captain has been fantastic. The bowling changes he comes up with have almost always have had an impact on the match. For now, nothing specific to point out in his captaincy, wonder if he would experiment playing Rahane in a game or two as a backup opener.
S Smith: He finally utilized R Tewatia well allowing him to bowl all his 4 overs which is good. Apart from that, when the best three batsmen of one's team fail to perform there is not much that a captain can do. S Smith should push for players swap to get A Rahane back. He has too many leg spinners in his team, R Tewatia, S Gopal and M Markande he can let go of Markande maybe or even Gopal if required. They need to score runs to defend the totals they make.
The match which looked promising when it started ended up being a another one-sided affair. The last few matches of IPL have been like that.
