2nd Innings: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR): 210/8 (20 overs)
This match like previous matches played at Sharjah was a high-scoring one. DC got off to a rollicking start, both P Shaw and S Dhawan looked comfortable and took advantage of the short boundaries of the ground to score 50 for DC within 5 overs. In the 6th, Dhawan got out trying to sweep V Chakravarthy, edged and caught at short-leg. S Iyer who has struggled throughout the series with his strike rate came in at number three, went berserk after getting his eye in. He started scoring run a ball, scored first 9 runs of 8 balls, thereafter 79 runs off the next 29 balls. Earlier building innings with P Shaw later on creating havoc while batting with R pant. Apart from A Russel none of the KKR bowlers were effective on this pitch.
In reply, KKR got off to a disastrous start losing S Narine early. Man in form for KKR-S Gill knit 64 runs partnership with N Rana before he got out for 28 off 22 balls. Thereafter, within a score of 50 runs, 4 wickets fell, from 72 for 2 in 8.2 overs; KKR were reduced to 122 for 6 by 13.3 overs. In the next 5 overs, E Morgan and R Tripathi scored 78 runs to ignite a little hope in KKR fans, unfortunately, their dream was far fetched. In the 19th over E Morgan(44 off18) got out followed by the wicket of R Tripathi(36 off 16) in the 20th.
