Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Rajasthan Royals (RR); the contest between the rejuvenated versus the undefeated.
Head to Head
The Head to Head between these two teams even.
In total, they have played twenty-one matches out of which one match was abandoned and in the rest, they shared the spoils winning 10 each.
If we look at their last four meetings, KKR have won 3 out of the 4 matches.
Top Players of KKR and RR
A Russell: He hasn't done much with the ball or bat this season but remains a very critical player in KKR setup. The day he gets the opportunity to bat he can change the course of the match in the span of 6 to 10 deliveries.
D Karthik: He looked in good touch in the first match but got out on a duck in the second. He hasn't performed as well as it is expected from him this year but sighting they are going to play RR the team in form, him returning in the form with the bat can ease out the pressure on other batsmen.
K Yadav: His struggle in the IPL continues this year as well if he can somehow replicate his T20I's performance in IPL he can be a very good asset for KKR.
S Narine: The mystery spinner hasn't clicked with the bat or with the ball as yet, but you cannot count him out for long.
S Gill: As expected from him in the last match he performed like a seasoned campaigner and showed a lot of maturity to help win KKR win the match.
S Smith: The RR captain & the run machine has looked in imperious form in the series scoring two fifties in two matches.
R Uthappa: He hasn't performed well as yet in the tournament but he is a pretty good batsman. He is amongst the top 10 run-scorers in IPL and sooner or later should return to form.
J Archer: He had an excellent outing as a batsman and a bowler against CSK but was expensive as bowler against KXIP. He looks in great form as a batsman and would want to perform better with the ball in this match.
S Samson: Two matches two man of the match awards, two team wins, what more can a player desire in cricket. He has played classically but scored at a very good strike rate.
Likely Playing 11
Other Players to Watch
Rahul Tewatia: Everyone is talking about his capability as a batsman after his exploits against KXIP but not many people know that statistically, he has a better bowling record in IPL as a bowler when compared to K Yadav and P Chawla. He deserves a lot more credit as a bowler itself. He makes this list as a bowling all-rounder.
J Buttler: The English player might replace Y Jaiswal in this match again. He faltered in the first match but could play a crucial role if he survives a few initial overs.
B Stokes: He is one of the star buys for RR whom they bought in 2018. This all-rounder if available should get into the playing 11.
K Nagarkoti: The young fast bowler from KKR is someone who can spring a surprise anytime in the tournament and he remains the player to watch out for.
E Morgan: The England captain looked dangerous in his previous match and could end up being the game-changer in this match.
On Paper both the teams look strong hence this should be an excellent contest for the cricket lovers. My allegiance in this match is with RR what about you?
