DC vs RCB Dream11 Prediction: Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Best Dream11

DC vs RCB Dream11 Team, Probable Playing XI, Toss, Pitch and Match Preview: Two most affected teams due to COVID-19 unrest clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Motera in Match No 22 of the Indian Premier League 2021.

The Big Picture.

With four wins out of five matches the two teams are separated by Net Run Rate on the points table. After battling spin in Chennai and a batting onslaught in Mumbai the two teams play their first match in Ahmedabad. The Ahmedabad wicket is expected to get quicker as the tournament progresses. Both teams rely heavily on their openers, surprisingly Virat Kohli ranks 4th in terms of runs accumulated this season by the openers of the two sides. Absence of key players with international experience is a major blow to the two sides, but this opens the doors for some young talented faces. Overall, the two sides have competed 24 times, DC have won 14 matches, whereas RCB have won 10. Since 2018 DC have had an upper hand on this fixture, the Capitals have won 4 and the Challengers have won 2.

Delhi Capitals

Ashwin’s absence opens doors for young Lalit Yadav who has done fair bit with his all-round skills. Pant’s situation after the SRH match was uncertain, his fitness report will be updated just a few hours before the match starts, in his absence dynamic wicket-keeper batsman Vishnu Vinod can keep wickets for DC. This season Delhi Capitals have been scoring at a healthy run rate of 8.4 runs during the power play. Prithvi Shaw who has been the inform batsmen since the beginning of 2021 is just 8 runs short of scoring 1000 IPL runs. Considering the wicket DC might bring in Anrich Nortje in place of Shimron Hetmyer.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Absence of Zampa and Richardson might not worry the RCB camp. They might still be able to rope in international bowlers as their replacements. Washington Sundar is a key bowler to control the DC left-handed batsmen. Sundar has bowled at an economy of 6 runs per over against the DC’s left-handed batsmen including Dhawan, Pant and Hetmyer. Mohammed Siraj has been the most improved bowler for RCB. This season the lanky fast bowler has bowled with an economy rate of 6.5 and more than 50% of his bowls have resulted into dot balls. RCB might bring in Daniel Sams in place of Dan Christian.

Pitch Conditions and Toss.

Including the 5 T20I’s played between India and England earlier this year and the match between PK and KKR, fast bowlers have picked up 46 wickets, whereas spinners have picked up 16 wickets. The wicket will continue to aid fast bowlers with some additional bounce. 160 looks to be a par score on this wicket. Dew has been a major concern which slides the match in favor of the chasing side. For that reason, side winning the toss will choose to field first.

DC vs RCB Dream11 Wicketkeepers

Rishabh Pant is my first-choice wicket keeper, Since AB de Villers bats at number 5 or sometimes even lower, reduce his chances of scoring big runs unless RCB loose quick wickets. Incase Rishabh Pant is not fit I will replace him with Vishnu Vinod.

DC vs RCB Dream11 Batsmen

This wicket offers a healthy contest between bat and ball. Since I anticipate a score around 160, I have selected 4 batsmen from the two sides. Contradicting my previous article, I have left out Virat Kohli to fit in Devdutt Padikkal and Prithvi Shaw who have been in an explosive form recently. Glenn Maxwell has been scoring runs all around the field. Dil scoop is the only shot that he has not attempted yet. With the amount of pace on this wicket we might witness that as well. Shikhar Dhawan the leading run scorer of this season has stroked bowlers on much slower wickets I think he is in for a quick flurry of runs today.

DC vs RCB Dream11 All-Rounders

Axar Patel is my first-choice bowler, Patel never looked like he was playing his first IPL match of the season. Patel is the only spinner in my squad to fit in some variation. Marcus Stoinis will have a big role to play especially on a wicket which has supported fast bowling. The Aussie is a handy batsman who can have a quick flurry of runs especially during the death overs.

DC vs RCB Dream11 Bowlers

I have invested heavily in the bowling department and have picked only fast bowlers on a conducive pitch. Harshal Patel the purple cap holder along with Avesh Khan are my first-choice bowlers. Ravindra Jadeja brutally hammered Patel in the last over of the innings, but I am sure with the skills and the confidence he possesses the young baller will bounce back strong. Kyle Jamieson and Kagiso Rabada are the other two bowlers in my side due to their consistency and abilities to pick wickets during death overs.

DC vs RCB Dream11 Captain & Vice-Captain

Captain: Devdutt Padikkal and Prithvi Shaw

Vice-Captain: Harshal Patel and Avesh Khan
