The Mumbai wicket aids seam bowlers and DC comparatively have a better bowling line up. DC won both their matches comfortably against CSK last season. Iyer being ruled out, Smith’s form will prove decisive for Delhi Capitals progress.
Pitch Conditions and Toss
The Mumbai wicket is a batting paradise and an absolute nightmare for spinners. Seam bowlers will get some assistance from the wicket initially. Looking at the batting debt of both sides, 200 run score cannot be deemed safe here. Side winning the toss must opt to bowl, 73% of the matches in Mumbai are won by sides chasing a target.
Probable Playing XI
After loosing their captain, Axar Patel tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss out the initial matches. Behrendorff, Ngidi, Rabada and Nortje are serving mandatory quarantine and will miss out on Saturday.

CSK vs DC Dream11 Wicket-Keepers
Rishabh Pant is an obvious choice for me, considering his current form and the impact that he has had on the game for the Indian team. I have dropped MS Dhoni, only because he has been out of action since the last edition of IPL. I expect him to be a bit rusty getting into this match.
CSK vs DC Dream11 Batsman
Since the Mumbai wicket is considered as a batting delta, I have invested heavily on front line batsmen. The key is to have more front-line batsmen from the chasing team in your squad. Shikhar Dhawan is my first-choice batsman for the form he showed against England in the recently concluded bilateral series. I have selected Faf du Plessis over Ambati Rayudu and Shimron Hetmyer only because he bats higher up the order.
Ruturaj Gaikwad is a promising young batsman who clicked for CSK last season and has shown decent form this year in the domestic circuit. Suresh Raina and Steven Smith are the other two batsmen I have selected. I feel the Mumbai wicket is tailor made for the two batsmen, both relay on timing rather than power for stroke making.
CSK vs DC Dream11 All-Rounders
Stoinis and Curran are my two all-rounders I preferred them over spinning all-rounders. Chris Woakes was another option whom I considered. In case if Steven Smith fails to make it to the playing XI, I will replace him with Woakes.
CSK vs DC Dream11 Bowlers
Since it is a batting paradise I strategically have selected only three bowlers in my team. Due to recent form and better understanding of Mumbai wicket Shardul Thakur is my first-choice bowler. Dwayne Bravo has been CSK’s most successful bowler and his ability to pick up wickets in the death overs makes him an obvious choice for me. Ravichandran Ashwin is my third bowler, for his consistency, variations and wicket taking abilities during the middle over.
